New Frontier China focuses on China's rural resources, human and natural, but Southwest China now has a new Liuzhou-focused consulting firm focused on connecting the city of Liuzhou with foreign development partners. As stated on the PCFSS website, their firm has been formed to "provide intellectual and cultural bridges between the city of Liuzhou and the United States of America".
Judging from their about page, the firm conducts more than just business consulting. They are working to help "bridge the business and cultural gaps" in four specifc areas: in commerce between businesses, in industry for factory management, for hospitals and their medical staff, and in schools for the field of education.
The PCFSS website specifically speaks of consulting to bridge the United States and China. The China part I can clearly understand, because they are based in Liuzhou. And sure, the staff is from America, but I would think more than just Americans could find their services helpful. Just a thought.
I had a chance to talk with PCFSS's chief representative in Liuzhou a few days ago, and found they already have helped develop a mutually beneficial relationship between a local Liuzhou hospital and foreign-trained medical experts. And for foreigners in China, the medical field is not always the easiest field in which to work.
In the field of education, I think their focus on connecting foreign experts with local teachers is a particularly nice idea. Their specific focus on teacher training (instead of focusing on students) is not only a felt need for many of the teachers in China, but a more effective way to develop the quality of education.
And though I did not have much chance to talk about the commercial and industrial involvement of PCFSS, Liuzhou is definitely brimming with opportunities for development in these areas, with incredibly strong industries already in town: Liuzhou Steel (Liugang), Wuling Motors (partnered with GM), and Liugong, one of China's primary producers of construction equipment.
I am interested to keep an eye on PCFSS and their involvement in bridging the commercial, industrial, medical, and education gaps, providing Liuzhou with a boost in its quest for development.
