What happens when we have a successful business, but an unsuccessful life? What is success? How do we succeed? Though deep down we all know there is much more to life than just how much money we have, we have so few examples of how to live any other way.
There are loads of examples of successful business people, and scanning the shelves of any bookstore will provide dozens of books to help us replicate the same kind of success. Where is the balance, though? Do we even want balance?
We are so accustomed to pushing ourselves with no regard for ...al healths, like physical health, mental health, and spiritual health, that the quiet warnings from those who have gone before us fall on deaf ears. By the way, I suspect the deaf ears of the younger listeners are probably the reason the message is a quiet warning. The older, experienced folks know when to use their energy and when to save it, and time on a soap box is usually going to be wasted.

Marriage and children are a commitment, no doubt about it. Everybody strikes this balance a different way, but learning to work through these ideas in cooperation with our spouses is essential. It seems that cooperation with our spouses, and learning to hear their different viewpoint, would bring most of us much closer to that balance than we now are.
