More Photo Evidence in the Ronaldo vs Golden Throat Story

I have them: Ronaldo advertising photos taken right from downtown Liuzhou, the home of the Golden Throat Lozenge company which is allegedly illegally using Ronaldo's photos in their advertising.

Most of the web pages out there, which I mentioned more in the previous entry about Ronaldo's suit against the Golden Throat company, only talk about the television advertising. That is evidentally what Ronaldo's "people" noticed, but the photos you see here are the first pieces of advertising which I noticed many moons ago, but which still lasts till today.

Liuzhou City Square Ronaldo Golden Throat Ad

I thought it only fitting to begin with the shot that made it on the television spot, the main source of controversy. This first shot also gives some good perspective on where these adverts are: right on the city square, on one of the most busy streets in town. The name of the bridge? The "Golden Throat Lozenge Bridge" of course!

Ronaldo Golden Throat sidewalk ad

This one is from a sidewalk, passer-by viewpoint. Almost all the signs say the same thing: "To protect my throat, I use Golden Throat". Sure you do! And you speak excellent Chinese, by the way.

And here are a few of the signs posted at an angle (not shown here, I have made these horizontal for your viewing pleasure) on the stairs to the pedestrian overpass.

And of course, they all have the obligatory schpeal on the bottom: "The Guangxi Golden Throat Lozenge Spokesperson: Three-Time [FIFA] World Player of the Year Ronaldo Da Lima" along with a very scribbly signature, which I have no doubt is his...but not for them!

I just have one major comment for Golden Throat Lozenge Company. If you really want to bump up advertising and make people want to buy your product, how about redesigning that box! The neon-light-styled color scheme is probably not the best choice. I sure do not think "throat lozenge" when I see that.

You missed the Liuzhou Ronaldo decorated sore throat buses!

I have been in and out Liuzhou quite a lot recently, but you are right, I have missed the buses. Man! I really need to get out more.
