Xinhua News Agency reports that a delegation of Hong Kong farming representatives will visit Korea for seven days in order to learn from Korea’s advanced technology and agrculture management. This is exactly what should be happening all over China, not just for relatively developed areas such as Hong Kong.
Agriculturists from the West, from Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand and Vietnam, and many other countries around the world have expertise that could be shared. How could these foreign professionals with a desire to help develop rural China help? How do they find opportunities?
Rural Chinese governments are most definitely interested in receiving such help. This is a golden opportunity for them, but their problem is locating interested parties, or maybe the problem is that do not know that anybody would be interested in the first place.
And in reverse, what of rural farmers traveling to more developed areas to study and research methods in use, as the Hong Kong delegation is to Korea? I doubt local farmers are going to be jumping on planes to Europe or the United States, but local delegations from agriculture bureaus would be an excellent idea.
Are countries, organizations, towns, co-ops, or individuals out there interested in receiving such delegations? If both parties are interested, could places like this, New Frontier China, be a simple medium of communication? Good idea, don’t you think? Interested parties are more than welcome to contact New Frontier China; we can help.
